Freeport, The Bahamas, is a honeymoon destination to consider if you want to go to The Bahamas but want an alternative to Nassau.  Freeport (often called Port Lucaya) does have some very nice beach views and environments, but it does not offer the amenities and features of Nassau.

Freeport features the wonderful crystal blue waters of the Caribbean and has some wonderful nightlife.  But restaurants and shopping options are not exactly in abundant supply.  There is some casino action available if you have a gambling interest, but the options are not superfluous. 

There is a very unique nightlife district in Freeport.  There is a collection of eclectic bars/restaurants around an outdoor courtyard/mall.  The bars are tiki-style in nature and you can sample a fresh pina colada in a coconut sliced open by a machete!

Freeport is a place to consider if you are interested in lounging on the beach and having a nice night out, but look to other options if you desire fine food, shopping, or daytime activities other than watersports.
