Key West is a very famous destination for vacationers and is particularly welcoming to honeymooners. Key West features the wonderful shopping/nightlife district of Duvall Street. Duvall Street is home to a wide array of bars like the World Famous Sloppy Joe's, an establishment that is rumored to have played host to Ernest Hemingway. Hemingway used to have a home in Key West which is still open today as a museum where the public can visit. The Ernest Hemingway Home & Museum is a very interesting stop along your Key West journey.
Around the island, there is plenty to see. Key West is historic in nature, so there are many landmarks to visit. Key West also lays claim to the the continental United States' southernmost point. There is a famous landmark to that effect which many visit to take photographs. The best chance a visitor has to see the sights is to take a trolley tour which takes you around to the more famous landmarks. Others choose to explore historic Key West on moped or bicycle. Key West also offers visitors a wide array of boating, cruising, and fishing options.
Before you hit Duvall Street for nightlife, be sure to take in a world famous Key West sunset down by the water. The whole island seems to pause at sunset to enjoy the spectacular views. Key West is accessible via air from major Florida airports, but it is a spectacular drive from Miami through the Florida Keys if you have time to spare.
Know that Key West gets extremly hot during the summer and is prone to hurricane season. Also note that even though Key West is on the water, the beaches are not the best in Florida.
